Parents usually ask

Family scheduling, answered.

What is the best family scheduling app for busy parents?

The best one is the one you do not have to maintain. Most family scheduling apps ask you to type everything in, which is why they sit empty by week two. DailyGrid reads your school and activity emails and builds the week for you, so it stays up to date without you entering anything.

Is there a family organiser app that reads school emails automatically?

Yes. DailyGrid connects to Gmail or Outlook with read-only access, finds the dates, forms and fees buried in your mail, and files them under the right child on the right day. You never copy anything across by hand.

Does it do meal planning for kids too?

Yes. Pick the cuisines your family actually eats, tell it who is home that week, and DailyGrid plans breakfast, lunch and dinner around your real schedule, avoiding anything your kids are allergic to. Save the plan and it turns into a shopping list of just the fresh ingredients, ready for whoever does the shop.

Is DailyGrid a replacement for Google Calendar?

It works alongside it. A shared family calendar is only as good as the last time someone typed into it. DailyGrid reads the emails and creates the entries for you, then hands them to the calendar you already use, so you keep Google or Apple Calendar without the data entry.

How is DailyGrid different?

It surfaces what matters automatically, so you do not have to remember to remember. No more scrolling the inbox or copying dates into a calendar by hand. Then it lets you assign who's got each thing and shares one plan with your whole family.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes. DailyGrid installs to your home screen and opens like any other app, on both iPhone and Android. See the step-by-step guide to add it in under a minute.

Why isn't it free?

Because reading your family's mail well costs money. Every scan runs your emails, PDFs and photo uploads through a paid AI model, on top of hosting and support. A small subscription keeps DailyGrid running, keeps it independent, and means your data is never the product. You always start with a 14-day free trial, so you see the value first.

Can't I just use Claude or ChatGPT to do this myself?

You can, and we love that. The difference is that DailyGrid gives you one place to manage everything, week after week, without copying anything by hand. It watches every inbox for you, sorts what matters, assigns who's got it, and sends the plan to your whole family on a schedule. Doing that yourself in a chat, every day, for every child, is the work we take off your plate.

I already get everything on school apps like ParentSquare and ClassDojo. Why do I need this?

Most schools now use at least one of these, and ParentSquare, ClassDojo, Remind and Bloomz are all good at what they do. The catch is that your kids are rarely all on the same one. Elementary is on ParentSquare, middle school is on Remind, soccer is on TeamSnap, dance is a private group. Now you are checking four apps instead of one, and each one still emails you anyway. None of them catch the things that arrive outside the app, like a message from another parent, a medical reminder, or a camp deadline. Turn on email notifications in those apps and DailyGrid picks them all up, so your whole family's week lands in one place.

Is my email private?

Yes, by design. Access is read-only, so DailyGrid can never send, change or delete anything. We keep only the short plan we extract, encrypted at rest, and we never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy.

What if my kids are at different schools?

That is exactly what it is built for. DailyGrid recognises each child's name, school and activities and files every item under the right kid, so one plan covers the whole family. Filter the board by child whenever you want just one view.

Can my co-parent, sitter or helper use it too?

Yes. Add their email and they get the same daily briefing and to-dos with no account needed, or share a read-only link with a grandparent or sitter. Everyone works from the same plan.

Which email providers work?

Google (Gmail and Google Workspace) and Microsoft (Outlook.com, Hotmail and Microsoft 365).

What does DailyGrid cost?

Every account starts with a free 14-day trial of everything, no card required. After that it is $12 a month, or $9 a month billed annually. Scanning both parents' inboxes adds a little more. You can cancel anytime. See pricing.

What if it misses something or gets it wrong?

You stay in control. Every item can be edited, dismissed, or marked done, and you can add anything by hand. Type a quick note, snap a photo of a flyer, or drop in a school PDF, and DailyGrid reads the dates for you.
